West Ham United are facing a battle to hold onto promising home-grown talent Reece Burke this summer, with The Daily Mail stating that Manchester City and Southampton are paying close attention to the teenage defender.
The Hammers have been looking to bolster their youth ranks in recent times, with a host of their most promising players signing new deals and other raw talents joining the London club.
However, this has been counteracted by rumblings that Reece Oxford could leave Slaven Bilic’s men to join Manchester United.
Burke has just spent the season on loan at Bradford and was a massively impressive performer for the Valley Parade outfit in 2015-16.
The 19-year-old’s contract only has 12 more months to run and as such the latest report suggests that West Ham’s Premier League rivals want to snatch him away.
Burke is an England under-20’s international and could well be incorporated into Bilic’s first-team thoughts next term, but needs to extend his current contract first.
